About Venn-acular
A small daily word game built around one big idea: the overlap.
Venn-acular is a free word puzzle you can play once a day in your browser, on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to install and no account to make. You open the page, read two rules, and have ninety seconds to type as many words as you can.
The idea
Everyone has seen a Venn diagram: two overlapping circles, each standing for a group, with the shared middle holding the things that belong to both. They show up in school lessons, business slides and countless jokes on the internet. Venn-acular turns that picture into a game.
Each circle gets a simple rule about words, such as starts with C or has a double letter. Every word you type lands where it belongs. A word that fits one rule sits in that circle and scores a little. A word that fits both rules lands in the overlap and scores three times as much. The fun is in hunting for those overlap words while the clock runs down: coffee, cliff, call, carry.
Why a daily puzzle?
Daily puzzles are a small, friendly ritual. Everyone gets the same two rules on the same day, so you can compare scores with friends, family or coworkers, argue about the best word, and come back tomorrow for a new one. A new puzzle unlocks at midnight in your own time zone, the way many popular daily games work.
Difficulty follows the week like a newspaper crossword. Mondays and Tuesdays are easy, with plenty of everyday words in the middle. Fridays and Saturdays are hard, with only a handful. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays sit in between.
Fair and family friendly
The dictionary behind the game holds roughly 180,000 English words, built from public word lists used by many word games and checked by hand. Slurs, swear words and crude slang are blocked, so the game is comfortable to play with anyone. If you find a real word the game does not accept, you can report it with one tap and it will be reviewed.
The puzzles themselves are planned from a curated list of about 21,000 everyday words. That keeps every round winnable with words you already know, while still rewarding big vocabularies: any valid word outside that everyday list counts as rare and scores double.
Your privacy
There are no accounts, and your progress is stored on your own device. To show you how other players did, the game shares your score and the words you played anonymously, tied only to a random code your browser makes up. The privacy policy explains exactly what is collected and why.
